In the comforts and advances of our current human condition, it is difficult to compare the changes we face today with hardships and challenges in the bloody years following the signing of the document we celebrate, The Declaration of Independence.

Sacrifice, determination, hope for freedom and a better life for generations ahead was the belief for those men and women that were willing to give it all for a vision of a new way.

Today, the retail world is facing a new paradigm. Different ideals have set the pace for the way we live. Headlines of store closings, bankruptcies, and falling stock prices highlight the peril of product-centered strategies. The message is clear, provide a shopping experience that resonates with the customer and fosters loyalty or face extinction. Amazon is king…and while some retailers have taken necessary steps to compete, most are ill-prepared to put up a fight. In a world where big fish eat little fish – Amazon is a whale…and they’re coming to a store near you.

Technology has created opportunities for us to have the ability to buy anything we want from any retailer at any time.  But yet, many in the retail world have still not grasped the revolution that is today, still responding in evolutionary ways. This is not a time for hunkering down, but a time for a bold revolution in ways of approaching business. The retail world has to get past the mentality of “what did we do last year” and “we have always done it this way.”

Just like in 1776, there has to be a new way of thinking that will require sacrifice and determination at all levels of the retail world. Our mission at Aptaris is to assist retailers with technology and process change that will enable them to join the revolution and to also continue to stand by those that are navigating their way through the new world of today.

It is with great honor we at Aptaris extend our gratitude to the servicemen and women for continuing to fight today for the freedoms our military had so bravely fought for in the past. And I would be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to commend our team for standing shoulder to shoulder during an exciting time of revolution within Aptaris.  United we continue to succeed.
